Hello,
I am currently using AE-GPT with Gemini models through Google Cloud / Vertex AI infrastructure.
At the moment, AE-GPT appears to use the older Google AI Studio Gemini endpoint:
`generativelanguage.googleapis.com`
This causes billing to go through direct Gemini API billing instead of Vertex AI billing and cloud credits.
I would like to request support for:
* Vertex AI Gemini endpoints
* Google Cloud API keys / Vertex authentication
* OpenAI-compatible Vertex endpoints
* Service account or Vertex API based authentication
* Ability to select custom Gemini base URLs/endpointsMy current issue is that Vertex AI API keys do not work inside AE-GPT because the app still targets the older Generative Language API endpoint.
Example desired support:
* Vertex AI Gemini 2.5 Flash / Pro
* `aiplatform.googleapis.com`
* OpenAI-compatible Vertex endpoint supportThis would allow users to:
* use Google Cloud credits properly
* manage enterprise billing
* avoid AI Studio billing limitations
* integrate with production cloud workflowsPlease let me know if Vertex AI support is planned or if there is already a workaround available.
Thank you.

Hi Vignesh, yes the AE GPT currently supports Gemini APIs through the Google AI Studio. And as of now Vortex AI authentication is not in works but I’ll do some research and see what are the possibilities and limitations.
Thank you.-
Thanks for the update, Umair.
I understand about Vertex AI not being in works yet. I appreciate you looking into the potential for it. Looking forward to your research results.

I’m not sure if its intelligence comes from the LLM or the project understanding method from the plugin’s skills. I’ve tested it and it hasn’t delivered anything useful yet. Can you point out some key benefits? For example, could you make a video tutorial demonstrating at least 10 practical benefits it offers? Thank you.
-
Yes, its intelligence comes from the AI model being used. For example a small local LLM can’t do much in comparison to GPT 5.5 or Opus 4.8.
This tool basically takes a prompt from the user, then optmizes that for After Effects using the AI model, and then that optmized prompt is used to generate Extendscript for the task user asked and this is where small models fail to produce a working Extendscript.
I’m working on a video to demonstrate its uses. One this I would like to mention, it’s not like “do this all for me” but rather it can help you speed up your workflow in tasks that take time.

Will there be a way in the future to access your gemini subscription in addition to calude and gpt chat to avoid using the api key?
-
Hi, sure. You can use your Gemini subscription through the Gemini CLI. It has been supported since last few versions already. You can even use your free Google account (with small quota for Gemini).
Though in my experience Gemini does not perform as well in the After Effects Extendscript thing as the the others from OpenAI and Anthropoc perform.

Hi admin, please clarify this for me and give me a definitive answer before I purchase your plugin.
I’m a microstocker. For example, if I use your plugin to create assets that I’ll sell on microstock sites, do I need to check the “AI-generated” box or not??????
Thank you-
Hi, AE GPT does not generate pixel based videos like the usual AI video generators (Veo, Kling, etc.) It generates Extendscript Code according to your prompt which is then implemented to create Compositions, Layers, Effects, Expressions in After Effects. You have full control over those layers. So you can say the final product is not a pixel-based AI generated video, it is like you would create anything manually in After Effects, AE GPT only speeds up that manual process.
Thank you.

Does the current version of AE GPT allow a custom OpenAI-compatible base URL for both Chat Mode and Agent Mode? If so, does Agent Mode require a proprietary structured response format, or will any tool-capable OpenAI-compatible endpoint work?
-
Hi, currently the plugin supports
1. Gemini API and CLI
2. Anthropic API and Claude Code CLI
3. OpenAI API and Codex CLI
4. Any local model through Ollama.And when you have configured any of these, you can use chat mode or agent mode, though the small local models mostly don’t work well with Agent Mode and fail on multiple steps.

Hi, I have one Single User License.
I work on a desktop at home, a desktop at the office, and occasionally on my laptop.
Can I activate the license on these three computers if I am the only user?-
Hi, ideally you can activate the product but most likely it will work on one pc at a time. Though the licensing is handeled by the aescripts team and they can answer better about it.
Thank you.

Can we get an option to connect to a networked Ollama instance?
-
Hi, currently it supports Ollama running on the local machine, but I do have a few more requests for the local network and will look further into this. Could you please let me know how are you generally accessing the Ollama on local network? i.e setting the OLLAMA_HOST and accessing on other macine with ip and port or are you using something like OpenWebUI? Also, any suggestions would be appreciated from anyone who knows Ollama better.

Hi there, I was wondering if there’s any way to include images as visual reference along with a prompt (I am using Claude within AE-GPT) – and whether that would actually be helpful in this context? For example if I am making a logo animation and want to offer a still of what it should look like
-
Hi, currently the Image, pdf and other common documents are supported as references in the API mode only. So if you’re using Gemini, Claude or ChatGPT through the API, you can add references, and yes, it is helpful. You can ask it to create 2d shapes like the attached image, and it will create layers and masks accordingly. But in CLI mode, I’m still figuring out an efficient way to add image support since AE GPT runs CLI in a headless state. Though I’ll have updates soon on the CLI image support as well.

Hi, I wanted to ask you about something regarding Gemini CLI.
I was trying to use Gemini CLI today, but I suddenly got an `IneligibleTierError` saying that the Gemini Code Assist for individuals client is no longer supported, and that users should migrate to the Antigravity suite.
This made me wonder whether Google has recently changed something regarding Gemini CLI and the free Gemini Code Assist tier.
Do you know if Gemini CLI is no longer usable with the individual/free tier, or if there is a new configuration or workflow that we should use?
I’m also wondering how this affects the AE-GPT workflow, especially if AE-GPT relies on Gemini CLI in some way.
Have you encountered this change or error before?
-
Hi, yes, Google discontinued Gemini CLI for individual accounts, and any services that use Gemini CLI will be affected, including AE GPT’s Gemini CLI section. But there is Antigravity CLI now, and I’m working on an update to get that working in AE GPT.

I’m confused by the section of your website that says “watch the demo”. The word watch makes me think theres a video to see. But when I click the link it takes me to a section of your website that just shows text like “Main homepage GIF
assets/aegpt-hero-demo.gif Use your best full-screen After Effects + AE GPT capture.” It even says dot gif but i dont see any visuals. I’m using firefox to look at this website-
Hi, thank you for exploring the website. I would like to mention that I recently launched this website, and it is still a work in progress. I’m working on the GIF files and will update it within a few days. In the meantime, you can take a look at the gallery section; you will find some videos there. Thank you.
